Hey everybody! Only one months left until this year’s Laser2 World Championships starts. If you want to compete and have not registered yet, you should do so within the next 2 weeks as the close of entry is at 11th July. Reading the notice of race, I discovered that each participating boat shall be insured with valid (and for the racing area suitable) third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1,500,000 €. You probably want to bring a copy of your insurance papers in case you are asked to prove insurance.

Hey everyone,
there is a nice article about our upcoming Worlds on the website of the Travemünder Woche (click here to read). There is some wrong information in the article concerning the social events and also they forgot to mention that we also expect a huge amount of sailors from the Netherlands. Apologies, guys, I hope you will still join

Hey everyone. Since some days, the online registration for the 2011 Worlds is open. Please register yourself on the website of the Travemünder Woche (click here).Close of entry is July 11th – so please make sure to register in time.
If you want to use the campsite you can also book your pitch at registration. The organisation authorities will make sure that all Laser2 sailors will assigned to pitches close to each other.

I just had a look at the website of the Travemünder Woche which was recently updated and now I cannot wait another 117 days for the worlds to come. It’s gonna be a huge, great event. There will be 4 World Championships (including ours), 4 European Championships and several other national and international races. To make sailing more public and offer some “specials” to the press there is the so called Sailing Area Trave. Here some classes will do part of their races just in front of the public.
Surrounding the sailing there will be a big festival with diverse live acts, food, beer and cocktails.
So get yourself ready for a fantastic week of sailing and partying in Travemünde!

Dear all,
the time schedule was just updated. There are five days (Mon-Fri) for sailing, the weekend before is planned for measurement and one or two practice races.
There will be an evening event on Tuesday (26th) at the four-master “Passat”. The other social events are not yet set, we will add them to the schedule later.

Hey everbody,
there now is an intention-to-compete-form online. Please be so kind to fill in the form if you intend to join the Laser II Worlds in 2011. It is not the formal registration – so you are not required to pay any fees. It is just to support our planning. Especially for crews from the US there is the possibility to indicate whether a charter boat is required. The sooner we now how many boats we need, the easier for us. Thanks for your help!

I just posted a map to see where the campsite will be (see accomodation).
I think, we got the best area for camping: Extremely close to the boats and racing area, still in walking distance to town center but not in the middle of the festival area, not across the river and all Laser 2 sailors will be close together.
